In 2019 our Fine Arts Department and an alumni, Frederick Douglas were organizing the inaugural Root Music Festival. It was a festival created for all types of musicians and ages. It focused on the root of music forms, theory, harmony, etc. To tie into this theme we thought the graphics could pull from our past and present culture to emphasize each type of music was derived from each other, especially Americana. Each letter represents a core type of music; gospel, folk, country and jazz.

Program was tabloid sized. These panels were the front cover. It was a 4 paneled document. Below was the inside artwork, a typography poster, I thought summed up the festival and gave the participant something useful to have after the event was over.
